Content types for SEO: what to use and when

SEO is not "write more blogs". Google ranks solutions to intent, and different intents require different content types.

Use an intent-first model:

  • informational: guides, FAQs, video + transcript
  • commercial: comparisons, best-of, alternatives, case studies
  • transactional: service pages, category pages, product pages
  • post-purchase: knowledge base, troubleshooting, how-to
  • Then connect everything with internal links (hub + supporting pages) and measure using Search Console + GA4.
