Niche keywords are one of the fastest ways to get SEO traction, especially when you do not have the authority to win broad head terms.
A niche keyword is not just "low volume". It is a query with clear context: a specific audience, use-case, industry, integration, constraint, or problem.
My workflow:
1. Start from business: segments, use-cases, constraints.
2. Mine first-party data: Search Console, internal search, sales/support language.
3. Expand with Ahrefs: Keywords Explorer, Content Gap, Site Explorer.
4. Validate intent in the SERP (page type + SERP noise).
5. Prioritize with a simple score (TP x business value / effort).
6. Build clusters (hub + supporting) and plan internal links before publishing.
7. Publish, measure, and iterate (positions 4-20).
